            I appreciate your perspective, Mr. X. I'm just hopeful that you can enjoy gaming again because you've been disappointed with Xbox for quite a while now. With new engines like Slipspace and UE5, it's only a matter of time before we see the true power of the Series X.

              The Series X isn't even backwards compatible when you think about it... it's natively running everything with full Series X power just like a computer does.

          • Xbox Series X is a beast for a PC guy point of view.

            An XBOX benchmark is flying under the radar despite clearly showing RDNA 2 matching top Nvidia Turing Cards. But, Nvidia will not go down easily...

                    Though, i am happy to see these headlines. I think he is underestimating the power of the cult of Sony/Pony. Irrespective i am extremely happy with Series X and all the things that Xbox are doing right now. I couldn't say the same at the start of previous gen.

                    @ Hasmeh

                    Remember, the 360 sold almost as well as the PS3 because people preferred power over exclusives. While there are many Ponies out there, most 360 gamers jumped ship again, back to PS4, because of power. Now, MS has both power and exclusives.

                    The conversation will change after MS's main event. If they have an impressive showing of multiple AAA games and real gameplay then that alone will turn the tide. If not, then they're going to struggle pulling people back in from the otherside. Let's face it; Sony has a reputation of delivering blockbuster exclusives and has the brand recognition that they will always deliver. MS has struggled with this up till now. Everything they're offering with SX is great but that's not going to matter to PS owners unless first and foremost you got awesome games they can't play on a Sony console. They gotta deliver BIG in July, and I'm optimistic they can do it.

                    I'm sure Microsoft will deliver an impressive showcase this July, but let's be real, it doesn't matter if Microsoft deliver a perfect event, some media outlets will find something negative to bitch about and pony's will move goalpost, like always they do, you can bet on that.

                    Basically only 4 months worth of PS4 games are guaranteed to work on PS5; you would have thought Sony might have made that stipulation a while ago.

                    Yep and even funnier is that the ponies are expecting those promised 4K BC games to all work from day 1. MS has spent 100,000 hours sp far to get to thousands of tested games and are spenidng another 100K to double their numbers.

                    Whereas sony only started in march with the top 100 games, they might double that by launch but no way 4K day one, they to chep to spend the money.

                    Looks like PS4 game support form 3rd party devs will not be very good, seeing how they would require so much more work to get running on PS5. Also, this pretty much confirms that there's no Smart Delivery... if there were, all you'd have to do is out the PS4 disc (or install the ditigal version) and it would run the PS5 code.

                    Honestly, there needs to be a, "This is how you play an XB1 game on your Series X" meme to mock Sony's reaction to MS' misunderstood XB1 used games fiasco.

                            For anyone keeping score, that's a total of 53% disappointment (42+11, since ttheir BC sucks and here's no evidence of HW accelerated ray tracing in the PS5, UE5 demo).

                              I'm glad to hear this, because as a video games collector, games preservation is very important to me and with digital purchased replacing physical discs, preservation is more important than ever for me and I'm glad Microsoft is well aware of this and working hard on this matter.

                              @Blaze_ATX

                              Agree 100% on the importance of preservation and I love that Xbox is taking it seriously. Still bummed that they don't have BC support for titles that require USB accessories (toys to life, Kinect, etc) but keeping my fingers crossed for someday.

                              In my dream world, the rumored deal with Sega would include Sega CD / Saturn / Dreamcast BC VMs so you could pop in a game from any disc-based Sega system and play it on an Xbox. Wouldn't need any enhancements, other than maybe standard upscaling, scanlines, etc. Just a way to play those games without all the original hardware causing clutter.

                              Totally not Xbox related, but are you familiar with Analogue? They have amazing products which perfectly recreate retro systems with FPGAs. They have a NES, a SNES, a Master System / Genesis / Game Gear, and soon they are launching their first portable and it will play GB/GBA/GG/NGP/Lynx games. Must have devices for collectors/preservationists who don't have all the space in the world to keep every old system hooked up.
