This sounds very interesting. So its going to be always online game for single player as well. Well, people play destiny now like it so it shouldn't be a problem.

They had a poll on Neogaf to see who they thought won E3, you may have already seen it but for those that haven't, here it is. Although not surprising at all I was shocked by just how much those guys over there favour the PS4 over the Xbox.

        http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1065003

How can they claim to be totally multiplatform when their userbase post results like these? It is so clear that the VAST majority of them are Sony fanboys.

I guess so, but I am happy it is if thats the case. Halo + expansive campaign, smarter AI and bigger battles. Ill wait till my internet goes back up if it went down lol.

I think both conferences are nearly on par, not the same focus. MS did one on its better conference since years but i need to admit that Sony has reserved a lot surprises to fans. Looks like they fixed the Fox engine :-)

As you know, CN Play is still at E3, yes I know "how lucky band!" and after the rush of the early days with the conferences comes time testing the games available on showfloors. Today they could test Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain and PES 2016 on Xbox One, the surprising information is that both titles on Xbox One will be in 1080p / 60fps, all this was obtained from Julien Merceron who handles technology Fox Engine at Konami. With the new SDK, they could notably increase the low def textures in high def, information that can therefore take seriously. Far 720p MGS Ground Zero and PES 2015. Konami was also quite proud of this fact and proposed as terminal xbox one that PS4 terminal. MGS V will be available on 1 September 2015 and PES 2016 on 17 of the same month, they will both be available on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

See, that's the WHOLE problem with that crap community, being labeled as a multiplat forum when every single gamer in the world knows they're as much pro-PlayStation as this very place is a sanctuary for Xbox fans.

That's just how it is, if they eventually come out and say "hell yeah, we're Sony fans only here", then I'll complain no more about them. Until that day comes tho, I will keep hating them just for being sick pathetic liars, pretending a false neutrality.

That is great news. The jump from 720p to 1080p is surprising. I personally would have thought maybe 900p this time. Hopefully the frame rate holds up well.

I would agree, but the Field Of View on hololense is basically as big as the screen of your TV so there's no way it can augment your room as you play. Hopefully MS are aiming for a much larger FOV, but right now I don't think illumiroom can be replicated on Hololense.

                              http://majornelson.com/2015/06/19/bu...game-for-free/

As we head into summer, we are excited to provide fans with another great deal for Xbox One. Starting Sunday, June 21 through Saturday, June 27, when you buy any Xbox One, you’ll get to choose any Xbox One game of your choice for free, including the highly anticipated Batman: Arkham Knight launching Tuesday, June 23, and other recent blockbusters such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, from participating retailers in the U.S.

I guess this is to combat the Sony marketing rights for the new Batman similar to when Destiny released last year. Could be quite effective this year.

This is more important than Halo at 1080/60. In fact, if this is true, Halo and Tomb Raider have an obligation to reach it too.
MGS5 is gorgeous, and propably will become one of the best games of the year.

I think the opposite. MS show included a couple of unannounced games (RECORE, GIGANTIC, Sea of Thieves, Gears 4), announced BC and showed games that will be available this year (FMS6, Halo, RoTR, GoW:U). And before the show announced that AAA titles like Quantum Break, Scalebound and Crackdown would be shown at GC (with probably some surprise as well). Not to mention many interesting indie games and Hololens demo & new controller. Plus some 3rd parties (The Division, Raibow Six, Fallout with mods). Not to mention Early access and Rare collection.

Sony, on their part, had no 2015 1st party games to announce. They did announce some nice games like Uncharted 4 and others, but all due sometime in 2016 (which, if you take in consideration that lately their 1st party games are missing deadlines and have been delivered at least 6 months later, puts most of them in 2017). Did a Shenmue KICKSTARTER announcement and showed some indie games. Morpheus was a no show on the briefing and 2015, PS4 will basically be running 3rd party titles (which will all be available for Xbox). There was SFV which is nice, but Xbox will probably get a "SFV: Some crazy subtitle" early nex year, as this is how Capcom does their thing.

So, considering everything, I would say that MS show was better: Plenty of 1st party games available this and next year (versus Sony only next year), 3rd party are shared between both, some new IP (RECORE, GIGANTIC, Sea of Thieves), Hololens (Morpheus was no show on the briefing), Early access, BC (vs PSNow rent-a-game). Now, this doesn't mean Sony's show wasn't good. It was very good, but not as good.

Even better, if it is 1080/60 and IQ is better on the Xbox (colours, shadows, lightning, aliasing) than on the PS4, this will finally end any discussion regarding Xbox being underpowered.

Sony must know by now the direction that MS are going and must know to some extent what's inside but cannot use that as an excuse either because it doesn't officially exist haha :-D

Sure it is a good point of view but for me the MS conference missed some kind of crazyness. For example, we all know that Halo5 and TombRaider will be huge games but the gameplay they have shown was not very "surprising". I wanted to see Lara into tombs or epic battles with Halo. The same for FM6, they did not show enough. On Sony side they have shown impressive gameplay for Unchartred and also from completely new Horizon IP. Anyway, do not mistake, i am a very happy gamer with the content of the MS conference. I also agree with you that for last months it is really better to be a XboxOne owner than PS4.

MGS5 is gorgeous, and propably will become one of the best games of the year.
Nothing is more important than Halo ! Wink ;) To be honest i do not care about 900p/1080p because for me there is no difference and, without this stupid resolution war, nobody would have noticed it. But 720p, for a new gen game, i cannot admit. I want to play MGS in comfortable situation.

At this point in they don't really need to do that and have shown that they are not really bothered by getting involved with the PS4 vs XboxOne war they are just doing their own thing. If they carry on like this going from strength to strength they are going to make Sony look like a bunch of incompetent fools who can't get anywhere near the performance out of a 50% more powerful (yet nearly identical architecture) box. I feel at this point that the Xbox is starting to ease past the PS4 with the consumer opinion, all that's left is to see at this point is 3rd party games consistently outperforming the PS4 which I feel we may begin to see going into the final half of the year. Good times ahead for team green!

Hey everyone, I'm a long-time reader of the blog, but never really posted much. I'd like to get more involved so I'll try and post a little more often now. Long-time Xbox supporter (XBL beta-tester, tested a few OG Xbox games for MS when I lived in Seattle, and was good friends with one of the OG Xbox designers...haven't talked to him in awhile though :). Anyways, I'm very glad this community is continuing.
